Counselor applications
Counselors are drawn from the top mathematics majors across the Italy, Europe and around the world from a wide range of colleges and universities. They spend an intensive six weeks living on the campus of the University of Padova, where we rely on them to create a supportive atmosphere in a vibrant and diverse mathematical community.
Eligibility Counselors must satisfy the following criteria: be enrolled in college or university at the time of application. Students in any year of their undergraduate studies are eligible, including graduating seniors. Typically, counselors are undergraduate students. However, in exceptional circumstances, master’s candidates could be counselors at PROMYS Italia.
Stipend
In 2026, Counselors will receive free room and board plus a six-week stipend of 6100 euro.
Counselor Application
Prospective Counselors must send an email with the subject line “Name Surname – Counselor selection 2026” to promys“at”math.unipd.it by April 16 2026 attaching:
- a curriculum vitae (CV);
- official college transcripts.
In addition, they must ensure that a letter of recommendation is sent on their behalf to the email address promys“at”math.unipd.it
The appointment procedure will be managed by Fondazione UNISMART, which collaborates with PROMYS Italia 2026 on organizational matters.
PROMYS Italia is particularly interested in increasing diversity in mathematics and in science and technology opportunities more broadly. PROMYS strongly encourages undergraduates to apply who are female, Black, Latino/a or from other groups underrepresented in STEM.
